INTEGRATED ENERGY SYSTEM FOR AN AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS
Holistic energy management with electricity, heat and storage integration
A comprehensive energy solution for the intelligent use of renewable resources has been implemented for an agricultural holding. The focus is on the integration of electricity and heat generation, a high-performance electricity storage system and precise control of the heating systems. This enables the holding to maximise its own consumption, reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and increase its energy self-sufficiency.
- Greater efficiency – targeted use of energy from PV, heat pumps and power-to-heat
- Increase self-sufficiency – storage and control boost self-sufficiency
- Using resources efficiently – making economic and environmental sense
By combining PV, storage, heat pumps and intelligent control, this project demonstrates how modern agriculture can be operated efficiently and independently of energy sources.
Our solution: Fully integrated M-TEC energy management system for agricultural use
- Photovoltaics: Integration of existing PV inverters (22 kWp)
- Energy storage: 46 kWh capacity, 18 kW output – for maximum self-consumption
- Heat generation: 3 speed-controlled heat pumps with a total heat output of 54 kW
Efficient energy solution for everyday agricultural use
- Power-to-heat control: Two heating elements, each with 9 kW
- Integration of the existing solar hot water system
- Intelligent control of 7 heating circuits – building, rooms, pool
- Storage of excess heat in heating and domestic hot water buffers heat pumps with a total heat output of 54 kW
- Central control via the M-TEC energy management system
